Steve Vai


Steve Vai was born in Carle Place, New York, June 6, 1960, he was the guitarist, songwriter, singer and producer originating from the United States.

The game starts from the blues, jazz, rock to classical and ethnic music. His guitar playing was not limited to the guitar community, but also for ordinary people who do not go into the guitar.

At 6 years old, Steve began studying piano. At the age of 10 years, Steve started learning to play the accordion. At the age of 13 years before Steve began to explore the guitar and since then so was born a new guitar god.

Steve Vai started his career with his debut album Flex-Able Leftovers in 1984. In 1990, Steve released his second album entitled Passion and Warfare. The album received international recognition and Steve won the Guitar Player magazine reader's poll in four different categories. Steve's third album titled Sex & Religion in 1993 and released his fourth album Alien Love Secrets was released in 1995. In 1996 Fire Garden Steve's fifth album was released.











Steve Vai is a guitar virtuoso who has three times won a Grammy Award. He is also a composer and producer who has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide. Early in his career began as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa. Vai joined recording and touring in Zappa's band for two years 1980 to 1982. He began his solo career in 1983 and has released eight albums since then. 


After the split with Zappa, Vai also recorded and toured with other bands like Public Image Ltd., Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and White Snake. Vai is also often a member of the G3 tour which began in 1996. Favored Nation is Vai's record label that began in 1999 in which the Vai described as "... Artists who have reached the highest level in the instrument of choice".








Vai began playing guitar in 1973 at the age of 13 years. In 1974 he began studying guitar with Joe Satriani is a guitarist and began playing in local bands, one of which is known as The Steve Vais. He's got the influence of many guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Brian May, Jimmy Page, guitarist Glen Buxton and Allan Holdsworth Jazz fussion. Vai went on all the guitar lessons to go to college at Berklee College Of Music and auditioned for Frank Zappa at the age of twenty years.

Vai Zappa send a letter of transcripts for the song The Black Page, an instrumental for drums, along with a cassette containing a Vai guitar. Zappa was so impressed with it, and in 1979 he hired Vai to mentranskipkan some guitar solos, including some of the album Joe's Garage and several series of Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar. This transcript was published in 1982 in The Frank Zappa Guitar Book.






Steve Vai live in Encino, California with his family. Vai is married to Pia Maiocco, former bass player Vixen. Vai and Maiocco had two children, Julian and Fire. Vai is also a strict vegetarian.

Veggies Rock Vai told that "It all affects my music as I believe that whatever we put into our bodies affects the way we think". "And the way we think will affect what we create. So I can not tell you all that affects the music I became vegetarian, I am sure it namua no effect.

"Many of the fans were surprised by his lifestyle as a vegetarian because she does not ever express it. "I think everyone should look for what's best for her life. I do not judge someone from what is in the eating. That's their world and everyone should find what is right for him ".
